Volunteer Drivers Needed

We need some awesome volunteer drivers for our August Camp activities. By lending a hand, you'll be part of a special team that drives our minivans to and from the airport, hikes, and excursions. There may be dirt roads that are a bit rocky and bumpy. Driving is optional, and we want to spread the responsibility among all campers. Safety is our top priority and we appreciate your help in keeping camp safe. If interested, please fill out the Volunteer Driver section on the Camper Form. Thanks!

Camp Activity

August Camp offers a range of hike levels. Please choose Which hike levels would you expect to choose most frequently?

A Hikes
B Hikes
C Hikes
Walks and Excursions

This is a full day hiking camp, and to attend, you should be able to hike a minimum of 5 miles with a minimum of 600 feet elevation gain in a 5 hour period.
A Hikes (longer and/or faster-paced, more elevation gain)
B Hikes (moderate length and pace, with less elevation gain)
C Hikes (easier pace and/or shorter, less elevation gain)
Walks & Excursions (little elevation, bike riding, kayaking, etc.)

Dietary Restrictions

Please understand August Camp is unable to accommodate all dietary restrictions. If you have very specific dietary restrictions, you may need to bring some of your own food to camp.

Driver Authorization

Volunteer Drivers

Transportation is an important part of making August Camp run smoothly. Volunteer drivers help transport campers between the airport and camp at the beginning and end of the week, and may also help shuttle hikers to and from trailheads during camp using camp vans and SUVs.

This section of the form is for campers who are willing to volunteer as drivers. Even helping with a few trips during the week is a big help.

In compliance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Driver Privacy Act, we hereby notify you that we may request a Motor Vehicle Record in connection with your application to drive August Camp vehicles. It is our normal practice to limit the report to driving records available from the appropriate state departments of motor vehicles. This report is procured for risk management purposes.

Certification of Receipt of Disclosure of Intent and Authorization to Obtain a Motor Vehicle Record

I acknowledge that I have received a copy of the “Disclosure of Intent to Obtain a Motor Vehicle Record.” I voluntarily authorize you to obtain a Motor Vehicle Record regarding me in connection with my application to drive August Camp vehicles for risk management purposes. I understand and agree that I can revoke this authorization only in writing and the revocation will be effective only upon receipt.
