August Camp is Wait Listed for the 2019 Season
Hello friends of August Camp! Please note that the Open Application period has ended for the 2019 season. We’re thrilled that a record number of applicants have submitted requests to join camp this year, and we are now beginning the randomized selection process. Due to the logistical limitations of running Camp and our maximum allowable guest count, it’s unfortunate but likely that not all who have applied will be selected. Notifications to those selected and not selected for 2019 will be sent out no later than January 31, 2019.

August Camp 2019 – Mount Rainier (Packwood, WA)
Week 1: July 13 - July 20
Week 2: July 20- July 27
Week 3: July 27- August 3
Week 4: August 3- August 10
Cost per week:
$975 for AMC members
$1150 for non-members
Applicants will be notified via email by January 31, 2019 if they have been accepted for their requested week(s). At that time you will also receive a convenient link to the payment form which includes a PayPal payment portal. You’ll also receive links to additional forms such as transportation, medical and risk releases that need to be filled out and submitted in order to complete the registration process.
Please note you must pay in full within 14 days of acceptance to guarantee your place at camp. If payment is not received within the 14 days, your reservation may be given away to another applicant.
Each applicant will need to fill out the form separately. On the form, there is a space to list any travel partners or tent mates.

AMC August Camp's - Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations must be mailed or e-mailed to the Registrar – phone cancellations will not be accepted.
Prior to March 1, 2019, all but $50 per person will be refunded.
Between March 1 and May 1, 2019, all but $300 per person will be refunded.
After May 1, 2019, but at least 31 days prior to the first Saturday for which a person is registered, 50% of payment in excess of $300 per person will be refunded.
No refunds will be given for cancellations received within 30 days of the first Saturday for which a person is registered.

August Camp has never been canceled due to events such as fires, flood or earthquakes. However, due to the recent tragic wildfires out west, the August Camp Committee has been prompted to think about how such natural disasters could affect August Camp. In the event of Camp cancellation or interruption due to some such unforeseeable event, August Camp would return all or part of the camp registration fees to affected campers, with the amount depending on the timing of such interruption or cancellation. Camper expenses outside the registration fees, such as airline tickets and related travel expenses, are not the responsibility of August Camp. August Camp strongly recommends that Campers purchase travel insurance to cover expenses in the case of personal cancellation and also in the case of camp cancellation. If you choose to purchase such insurance, verify with your insurer that it covers cancellation for any reason, including natural disasters.

Unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions to our cancellation policy for medical issues and other personal emergencies that may arise, so we strongly recommend that you purchase trip insurance to protect yourself in case such a situation occurs
